April 19th Update!

Hello Parents,

A quick note to say hi! Between spring break and a week of fighting off a virus and now a lovely little week with the kiddos here we are coming into the last week of April ... how?!

Here's a quick update on what we are working on right now. In Language Arts we have started a fiction writing unit where we are working on adapted fairy tales! We are reading the second book in the Tilly series "Tilly and the Lost Fairy Tales". In Math we have been working on division! We have wrapped up the bulk of our country studies in Social Studies and we are about to launch into a final project ... stay tuned for that! Mrs. Goruk's class will be doing a large Science final project and then we will put on a "fare" day where the students will have a chance to present to each other and share their learning! Can't wait!

We will also be starting our safety meetings through the program "Kids in the Know". I am looking forward to diving into that next week.

In our photos you will see some fun in the learning commons, planting seeds for our *hopeful* plant sale (we will see how they grow haha) and some acting and rehearsing to fine tune ideas for our fairy tale adaptations!

For next week here's what you need to know:

Monday: It's spring picture day! We get our photos done at 10:25 am!

Tuesday: Don't forget library books!

Wednesday: Full morning field trip to Alexander Wilderness! This is our outdoor school trip rescheduled! The weather today is saying it will be around 17 degrees! Yay!

Friday: We have a round circle assembly with an Indigenous elder to celebrate earth day! Time is still to be determined but it will be around 9 am!

Thanks so much for all you do at home to support our learning!

Talk soon,

Ms. M
