Welcome to May!

Hello Parents,

Just a quick update here on this sunny Friday! Here we are in MAY! Oh wow - time is just FLYING right now. The students have grown so much in their independence and their critical thinking ... it's been so joyful to learn with them over these weeks.

Fairy tales, algebra and simple machines (Mars rovers) have been great learning opportunities. This week some of our highlights included some outdoor school learning about the water cycle, getting a new assassin snail in our fish tank - if you'd like to learn more about our snail watch this cool video here -> Assassin Snails  - ask your child why we needed this snail and see if they can teach you about the food chains, living systems in open/closed environments and use vocab words like predator, prey, carnivore, herbivore or omnivore!

As for next week we are continuing on ... wrapping up algebra and heading into geometry, continuing Kids in the Know safety lessons, and finishing our fairy tale adaptation!

Reminders for this coming week: .

Tuesday: Plaxton Pride day ... wear your Plaxton gear or dress in our school colors (white, black, green and yellow). Learning commons - don't forget your books!

Wednesday: dress for the weather for outdoor school! Thank you for not sending crocs as outdoor shoes on Wednesday ... they don't work well in any weather for learning outside! It's also HATS ON FOR MENTAL HEALTH! Wear a hat on Wednesday!

Other than that, we are rocking and rolling through the week!

Supplies we are looking for right now:

- potting mix/soil

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. M
